The American Association of Teachers of French (AATF), which brings together teachers of French from pre-K to university, supports all who are teaching and learning the French language and promoting French and francophone cultures. The Musée de Venoges is an all-volunteer living history museum whose purpose is to understand and interpret the lives and material culture of the early French-Swiss inhabitants of Switzerland County. Their website is https://www.venoge.org/
The Allen County-Fort Wayne Historical Society maintains the Chief Richardville House, the residence of Chief Pinšiwa, Jean-Baptiste Richardville, who was of Miami and French-Canadian heritage, an important figure for the Miami tribe and in the early history of the State of Indiana. The Bailly Homestead site is within the Indiana Dunes National Park.
The Kankakee Valley Historical Society has sponsored an archaeological dig at the Collier Lodge site at Baum’s Bridge on the Kankakee River. Past dig seasons have unearthed evidence of habitation from Native people as well as from the era starting in the 1700s.
